- Sleeping Beauty (Special Edition)
-
- Charles A. Nichols
-
- Home on the Range
-
- John Sanford (II)
- Pretty standard nouveau-Disney fare. It's cute, the music's catchy, the characters are loveable, the ending is happy.
-
- Monsters, Inc. (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
-
- Docter, Peter
- Hilarious and touching, and probably reassuring for the kids, totally kids, in conclusion kids, who are still afraid of the monster under the bed. Tons of extras, again mostly for the kids, but some good stuff for the grownups too.
-
- Finding Nemo (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
-
- Stanton, Andrew
- It's a good story with gorgeous graphics. Tons of extras, mostly for kids, on the 2-disc edition.
-
- Fantasia (Special 60th Anniversary Edition)
-
- James Algar
- My mother and I used to play this game when I was wee--making up stories to go with classical music. I didn't see Fantasia until I was in college, but I immediately made that connection.
Mostly, I pop this in when I'm writing.

- Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
-
- Gore Verbinski
- A friend of mine got me this for Christmas, and I watched it 30 times that first month. Anything else I say must be heard with that in mind.
I think this movie, although immensely popular, is vastly underrated/underappreciated. There is a lot more going on here than the superficial "ooh, shiny"--although, come on, Johnny, Orlando, and Jack Dav playing pirates, there is a LOT of shiny. But the movie is subtly witty, snarky and sweet, and it puts several interesting twists on the tried-&-true story formulas Disney is so comfortable with.
